LB Matthews back at practice

Posted by Mike Spofford on September 6, 2010 – 12:14 pm

LB Clay Matthews, who has been out since the Family Night Scrimmage with a hamstring injury, was back on the practice field on Monday at his starting left outside linebacker position. LBs Brad Jones (shoulder) and Desmond Bishop (hamstring) also returned to the field.

DE Cullen Jenkins (calf) went through the opening jog-through portion of practice, which was moved from Clarke Hinkle Field inside to the Don Hutson Center midway through due to a rainstorm.

CB Brandon Underwood (shoulder) remained out of action.

As for the return game, CB Tramon Williams lined up as the first punt returner, while WR Jordy Nelson was the first kick returner.

Also, three players changed uniform numbers after final roster decisions were made — LB Frank Zombo is now No. 58, S Charlie Peprah changed to No. 26 (his number during his previous tenure in Green Bay), and practice-squad QB Graham Harrell is now No. 6, his college number at Texas Tech.

Coming later on Packers.com will be today’s Mike McCarthy press conference transcript, as well as a feature story and notes.
