I had such high hopes for tonight being my first time near Lambeau Field. We have a large family with 4 kids so we rarely get to do anything like this- we paid triple the face value of the Family Night tickets…. and it ended up being such a let down. I understand no one controls the weather- it’s just disappointing for a new Packer fan.

Rain again! I really didn’t think it’d rain till early Sunday morning. But thats Mother Nature for you, and it is what it is. Family Night was “AWESOME” minis the rain. American Anthem, Fly By, Players, Fireworks & etc. I was a little disappointed in the fact there wasn’t the jersey give-a-way. It was advertised to be. I maybe wouldn’t have won one,it still is the anticipation of maybe-what happen? The rain did stop, fans where still in the stadium. Something new added this year which was at the beginning of Family Night -90 fans-picked randomly would get a “Free Jersey” from the Pro Shop w/Packer #1 on it. How was this done & how far in advance did these Fans know they where picked? Is there a list of the ticket #’s of who got these?

What an enormous disappointment! This was our kids’ first trip to Lambeau. After arriving early in the afternoon to tailgate and enjoy our time together, following a 4-hour drive over, we headed to the Atrium, which was supposed to open at 4:30 (as per Packers.com). We arrived about 10 minutes early (4:20) and waited…and waited…and waited. Finally at 5:50pm, they let everyone in! We spent one and a half hours of standing there, waiting in line in the heat (w/out water of course, as you can’t bring any in). With speakers/PA system right outside the entrance to the Atrium, how about someone letting us know what’s going on; what the delay is for? My 5-year old had to use the restroom in the worst way (which of course was now locked from the outside) and we never got to eat as we had planned inside the Atrium. Unfortunately, to top things off, some idiot decided that they felt they should be the new owner of my Weber grill top, so now I have to buy a new grill as well.

i am only 29 years old and here is one thing i know. things don’t always go as planned, stuff happens and you cannot control mother nature. so stop complaining and just enjoy what you can. you are one of the historic stadiums in football. QUIT CRYING. THERE’S NO CRYING IN FOOTBALL.

No complaints about mother nature, Mr. Page; I’m well aware that rain happens and there’s nothing one can do about it. However, I can voice my displeasure with the staff not opening up the Atrium, as advertised, as well as the thieves who stole my personal property. When you grow up, and have children standing in line with you asking “When are they going to let us in, Daddy?”, “Why haven’t they opened the gates yet?”, or “I’m thirsty.” and “I have to go the bathroom really bad.”, then you may understand that it’s not about “QUIT CRYING. THERE’S NO CRYING IN FOOTBALL.” Not to mention, I shouldn’t have to try to explain to my young children why someone would steal something from us for no reason. That has nothing to do with history stadiums or the game of football that we love. Regards.

I would have to agree with Tom on the fact that they should have let everybody know why they weren’t opening the doors. We arrived at the stadium around 4 expecting there to be stuff going on. We got in line about 4:20 and we very restless by the time 5:30 hit, and yet we still had to wait another 20 minutes to get in with nobody making us aware of what was going on. I was also very disappointed in the fact that the jersey give away was cancelled. The fireworks were cool but I am one who could care less about any fireworks. I stood in the concourse for about an hour and a half just for the small chance that I would be able to be a lucky winner of a jersey. I was especially disappointed because the event staff that were next to us kept saying they still might give them out. There is a good chance I would not have stuck around for the fireworks if I knew that my chances for a jersey were eliminated. I am still glad we drove 7 hours to attend, but did leave slightly disappointed.

I agree, Michelle. My wife was disappointed with that as well. While I knew the chances of winning one were virtually nil, it’s still fun hoping that you get selected (especially for the kids’ sake). Considering this wasn’t the first year they’ve had Family Night, I was really surprised by how things were conducted by the Packers/staff.

The delay in letting people in was due to a TicketMaster problem, all tickets from them were scanning as invalid so TicketMaster had to fix the problem before any of us could get in.

There were restrooms outside of the Atrium that were not locked, the port-a-pots behind the tailgating buildings.

I was bummed about not having the jersey give away and until reading articles had no idea they had drawn for the custom jerseys. How would 1 have found out they won this? How did 1 register for this?

All in all, my family of 4 had a blast and will definately be doing it again. The thing that matters is we got to see the best players the NFL has to offer, even if for just a few minutes.

One suggestion for years to come…have a designated area where a couple of players at a time rotate to sign autographs/take photos. This works well at the cocktail party the night before a game, I would think letting kids get up close to them at this event would work much the same.

Tickets did say gates opened at 5:30pm so they did let everyone in a bit late but the bathrooms were open on the Verizon wireless side of the stadium. As far as the person with a large family who paid 3X the face value of their tickets, I just have to say that is your problem!! Don’t complain, they were still selling tickets on ticketmaster on Friday and at the stadium on Saturday for face value. Don’t complain when you do something stupid!!! It was your choice. Even Vince doesn’t control Mother Nature!

Packers.com website cleared stated that the Atrium was to open at 4:30pm. The doors to the bathrooms outside the atrium entrance were locked form the outside; according to some folks we spoke with because of the chance of people getting in w/out a ticket, which was understandable. Had we known that we were going to have to wait an hour and a half at the gate, I certainly would have gotten out of line and had my 5-year old use one of the port-a-pots. The whole point was that the Packer staff have the means to communicate to people, why not do so?

1st my tickets stated doors open at 530pm from ticketmaster. Doors didn’t open until 550pm. This is irritating waiting another 20 minutes in line with a 6 and 4 year old. What is the delay. Then we pay 40 for tickets that includes 8 dollars in fees so the tickets are actually 12 each. I then buy 4 hotdogs and two large sodas for 32. Then go back and get another hot dog (cause what man only eats one hotdog), popcorn and another soda for my wife and I for another 15. Then 2 waters for 8 for the kids. This is a total of 103. You wonder why attendence is down. Price and 3 of 4 last years delayed/cancelled due to rain. Next year IF we go we will be doing eating somewhere else or just watching it on TV. Family night is no longer the word for it.

Are the Packers going to do any thing with the jersey give away that didn’t happen on family night?

I’ve been a Packers Fan for years and this was my families first time inside Lambeau, and will probably be our last! It was great seeing the SuperBowl Champion Packers live and in person! However the seats were way uncomfortable and each seat was about half the size that was needed for an adult, And who’s brilliant idea was it to give out noise makers to 30,000+ kids! Those things drove the wife and I totally insane! And when everyone was packed inside durring the rain all you could hear was all the dang slapping of those things, Never Again! We’ll be way more comfortable at home watching the Packers Win on TV! Bad choise Packer Management!
