As graceful as Donald is, he shouldn’y have any problem “going deep” in this competition.

I hope they can find a place for Driver going forward. If not on the roster than maybe on coaching or conditioning staff. It appears Driver only wants to play and sadly I think that will be in another uniform.

Hopefully Driver won’t get injured on dancing with the stars. Some of those dancing moves can be brutal.

The Green Bay Packers should keep Donald let him finish out his carrer as a member of the Packers. He fought hard for the Packers to get this team on top. Donald hope you win that Mirror Ball.

I would remind the organization that Donald Driver is the only receiver who made big-time catches against the Giants when it was all “on the line.” He needs to finish as a Packer. Now I have to watch that stupid show, too!!

This is a great selection!! I’m so pleased. I can imagine him doing so well. I’ll be tuned in and cheering him on.

I love to watch Dancing with the Stars but having Donald competing will make it extra special to watch. I think Donald will do great, his smile alone is a good reason to win.

I also have to say that I hope that Donald will be back with the Packers this season and he can finish out his career with them. He is a great member of the team both on and off the field.

    Love you Donald!

It would be very disappointing to not see Donald Driver in green and gold next season.Hes the definition of a true Packer!!

  24. By Jeremy on Feb 28, 2012 | Reply

I know everyone likes Donald Driver, including myself, but we can’t get too attached to a player either. I don’t think the Packers front office is very sentimental when it comes to these kinds of decisions. If he takes less money and it makes sense financially for the Packers, then yes, he could remain with the team. But to want him to stay on the team because he’s a good guy in the community and a good guy in the locker room isn’t a good reason for the Packers to keep him. Again, if he takes less money (and he said he would) then it’s definitely a possibility. Having said that, I don’t think I’ll be watching the dancing show but I’m sure I’ll hear enough about it from others. Go Pack!!

never saw the show but will now. Donald was made for TV, I hope he does Packer shows when his playing days are done, he’s the most charismatic guy since Leroy Butler.

I watch the show, but very seldom vote. Now I will be voting every week for DD. He makes us proud as a Packer and now he will make us proud as a dancer.

I will vote for you 100 times a night. Just smile for the camera and you will win.

  31. By Cali on Feb 28, 2012 | Reply

I can’t believe no one comes here to talk football untill Dancing with the Non-Stars is involved. What about when Driver decided to take a pay cut just so he can finish his career in Green Bay? I guess Dancing with Idiots is more of an accomplishment. Oh, and Jeremy, havin’ a player bein’ so dedicated to his community and his team is a legitimate reason to keep someone. Plus, he’s still a relevent player on the offense. To say somethin’ so stupid says somethin’ about you.

  32. By Cali on Feb 28, 2012 | Reply

And NO, I’m not gonna watch that dumb s***, even if Driver is on there. Hell, they can put the whole team on there. Still wouldn’t watch. Save it for the field, not the dance floor.

  33. By Arleen on Feb 29, 2012 | Reply

Cali, I agree that Donald Driver is a big part of the Packers, and that he should stay with them. However, I do love DWTS and I really hope that he does very well on the show. I watch it every year, and even record it when I’m not home so I can watch!

  34. By Dave in Chicago on Feb 29, 2012 | Reply

I suggested this in a post about a year-year and half ago!!. DWTS took my idea!! Glad they did. There are some D-backs that are still looking for their supporters after the move that DD put on them.

I hope that he does return to the Packers and end his career with them. But that is not the nature of the business.

All those teams out there that are thinking of Moss and TO, DD is a much better idea. A lot less drama and aggravation.

Do well, DD. And work the “Sharper Shimmy” into your winning routine.

Good Luck on the Stars DD, but I’ll wait to see you in a Packers uniform next season when the Pack dances into the next Super Bowl! I’ll leave the viewing of DWTS to the women in the family; got hockey business to take care of. Glad such a hot topic came up so we could discuss…ummm……dancing I guess. Enjoy Ladies!
    Go Pack Go…

  37. By Jeremy on Feb 29, 2012 | Reply

Cali, glad you aren’t in charge of team decisions. If the Packers held on to every player because of what they mean outside the team the Packers would be in big trouble. I’m not saying I don’t like Driver or that I don’t want him to be on the team this season. And yes, he still makes some plays. But the Packers have a lot of talent at receiver and some talent right behind him that the they really like….they like the talent behind him so much they paid them extra money just to remain on the practice squad!! I’m just saying the Packers make decisions based on what is best for the team which is to keep it fresh (and young) and to be financially responsible while staying competitive at a very high level. If the pay cut is reasonable then I’m sure he’ll be here. Dave in Chicago gets it….he said it the best, “nature of the business.” You just need to settle down a little!! And so what if people are excited that he’s going to be on the dancing show. Your attitude on here says something about you. In the end, aren’t we all Packer fans?? Go Pack!!

  38. By Nancy on Feb 29, 2012 | Reply

Yes, now I have to watch the show…only way to get me to this year. If Packers get rid of him, they will prove what they did to Brett Favre.

  39. By opie318 on Feb 29, 2012 | Reply

You know why he’s doing this right? The Packers said to him you’ve lost a step and your popularity isn’t what it used to be.. And Drivers choosing to do this as a ploy to up his popularity and namesake, to bring something to the table other than his age. If he’s popular enough, the Packers will look terrible cutting the old veteran, yeah TT and company have a track record of cutting old legends but remember Favre made the first move by retiring. Driver did no such thing, even went as far as saying he will take whatever pay cut they see fit! He’s a team player and with a growing popularity and already huge loyal fanbase it would be a public relations nightmare to cut the guy now. The Packers know that, good one Driver! You deserve it anyway, Go Pack Go.

  40. By Arleen on Feb 29, 2012 | Reply

Opie, I don’t think that he has to “up” his popularity one little bit! He is a fantastic human being, and I think he’s comfortable in his own skin. I think he’s doing DWTS just because he thinks it would be a hoot, and I truly think he will go quite a ways in the competition. At least I hope he does. True, the Packer organization wants the best possible team they can have, but I don’t think (at least I hope not) that they would be callous enough to cut him. He just wants to play for the Packers. That kind of loyalty you don’t find too often.

He’s got all the right move’s on the field and I think that he will on the dance floor too! I also hope that the Packer organization will see the light and not let him go. You need men like Donald. He alway’s goes all out for the team, a leader, a great receiver. And part of the backbone of the “Pack”! Please don’t let him go!!!
