CB Jenkins goes at 39 to St. Louis
Posted by on April 27, 2012 – 6:38 pmThe first cornerback of the second round, Janoris Jenkins of North Alabama, has been taken by the Rams at No. 39. Jenkins, who was dismissed from Florida’s program for off-the-field issues, was considered a first-round talent but a character risk. The Rams finally thought, at 39, he was worth the risk.
It would have been remarkable had Jenkins lasted until pick 59, when the Packers are on the clock, but if he had, you wonder if a player with Jenkins’ checkered past was even on the Packers’ draft board.
