Round 2 is underway
Posted by on April 27, 2012 – 6:09 pmWR Brian Quick of Appalachian State is the first pick of the second round, going to the Rams at No. 33. Right after that, the Colts took TE Coby Fleener from Stanford, so the first two picks on Day 2 are offensive players.
There are still a number of attractive defensive players, particularly defensive linemen, on the board. Alabama’s Courtney Upshaw is an OLB candidate, while interior guys remaining include UConn’s Kendall Reyes, Michigan State’s Jerel Worthy, Penn State’s Devon Still, and a few others.
It will be interesting to see if the Packers have targeted one of those names and whether or not they’ll look into trading up if one of them hangs around for a few picks or toward the middle of the second round.

Packers need a lot of assistance on defense. However, Ted Thompson has said all along that they do not target anyone, but take the best person available that will meet their needs. This doesn’t mean they are going to take a QB in the 2nd round but it people are not a value pick in that round they will look at trading down.
