Packers again wear cowboy hats to Welcome Back Luncheon

Posted by Duke Bobber on August 29, 2012 – 2:43 pm

QB Aaron Rodgers

The Lambeau Field Atrium hosted the annual Welcome Back Packers Luncheon Wednesday.

A number of players donned the now familiar cowboy hats and bolo ties, similar to the 2010 luncheon, when players were hinting at their goal for the season: Super Bowl XLV in North Texas.

New Orleans hosts Super Bowl XLVII at the culmination of the 2012 season, but the only beads in sight were on a table backstage.

Rodgers in the re-make of The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. Rodgers = the good. Tim Tebow = the bad. Rex Ryan = the ugly.

But the Super Bowl is in New Orleans this year. Rodgers should be dressed as King Zulu.

OK, call me stupid, but, aren’t the good guys supposed to wear white hats?

Real cowboys take their hats off at the table.

I’m with Zach on this one … they look great except seeing Rogers sitting at a table with his hat on … that’s really quite disrespectful and rude.

Woo Hoo! The boys were lookin’ great! I get the “hats inside” comments, but man, Aaron makes one awesome cowboy! One request, please put captions on the pictures – - – - – some of us don’t know EVERY player without their helmet! Go Pack!

Seriously…you’re going to knock Rodgers (which let’s spell his name accurately PLEASE) for wearing a cowboy hat while sitting at the table? I think you both are entirely missing the point of their luncheon theme and he by NO MEANS is being disrespectful…he is merely complementing the theme and being a team player. You should not take something fun and twist it into a disrespectful manner. Rodgers is far from disrespectful.
&& might I add how incredible he looks. So handsome :)

The guy look great. I see nothing wrong. Thay are fine having a good time. If you are going to quote what people do, than take a step back. A REAL COWBOY TAKES HIS HAT OFF WHEN THAY COME INSIDE, not at a saloon. Now I am from CALIFORNIA and I know that. Yes we have cowboy’s out here. I am a big PACKER fan. just laugh at it, The guys are so use to having something on there head’s

As someone who’s seen a LOT of cowboys come in off the range out here in the desert southwest for LOTS of years, the comments about not taking off your hat being rude are off base. A cowboy’s hat is pulled low to his eyes when he’s out in the sun — that hat is “on”. When you come in, you push your hat back so the front rim is up near your hairline — that hat is now “off”. And that’s the way you sit at the table for lunch, ’cause you’re headed right back out after you eat.

You’re free to remove your hat completely if you want, but it is by no means a requirement, nor is it disrespectful not to do so.

Thanks Rick. This was a big moment for the Packers…It’s disturbing to see people bring negativity in such a great moment for the Packers. I am looking forward to an awesome season! This team is just everything a team should be. Hands down. :)
Never get sick of saying…”GO PACK GO!!!”
