Thursday’s practice in pads

Posted by Mike Spofford on September 6, 2012 – 12:55 pm

The Packers put on pads for Thursday’s practice, the first time they’ve had pads on since last Thursday’s preseason finale against Kansas City.

With the CBA rules regarding the limitations on padded practices, the Packers generally will practice in pads only once per week. Last year, Mike McCarthy used Thursday for that, and it appears he’s sticking to the same plan in 2012.

RB James Starks and LB Jamari Lattimore were not practicing in the portion open to the media. S Sean Richardson was back at practice after sitting out on Monday and Wednesday. Also, CB Davon House was in pads and doing some drills, so he is taking another step forward in his recovery after returning to the practice field on a limited basis on Wednesday.

I hate to get my hopes up, but I am excited about the possibility of House being able to contribute to the team this season. In the limited look we got at him, and the camp reports from the media, he seemingly was the best CB opposite Tramon.

It’s unfortunate Kenny, because the Davon House we may see on the field this year isn’t even going to be his best. Tramon struggled a little bit last year playing in the harness. Hopefully House can play respectably, because you’re right, he did look very good.

Davon House is a talented player, and a great devout Christian like Greg Jennings, Tramon Williams, Nick Collins, etc. but I am afraid he is made of the same brittle bone & muscle that Justine Harrell was. And Mike Neal so far.

I hope I am proven wrong soon.

I beleive these guys will gell together in week 3 and let charles go back to playing center field again. I like the speed at linebacker we just have to hope Dom came up with something to help stop the intermiediate over the middle killer. Stop going for the explosive hit and just wrap up. Im pumped up about this weekend and i think the defense is going to play with a chip because even though it was evident all you heard about was what about the defense.
