My problem is the lack of intensity, and as others have said, Heart. Our defense just seems to try to do just enough to get it done. They play like they're deathly afraid to tackle. I don't care what ANYONE says, Tramon Williams is a joke. He got embarrassed at least twice in the loss when he made the most pathetic tackle attempt (If even that) on the planet. He's not the only one who can't tackle, but he irritates me the most. We need more experience on defense. We have a finesse defense, nothing wrong with that, it generates turnovers, but when you have ONLY a finesse defense, and no AGGRESSION, it doesn't work well. Why were the Ravens and Steeler's such defensive threats not too long ago? They were MONSTERS on defense. They didn't want to tackle you, they wanted to damn near beat the hell out of you every time they tackled, that scares the offense. They're more hesitant to catch/run in fear of getting injured. That's what we need. If we had a team of Clay Matthew's (In terms of mentality at least), we'd be one hell of a team. Without Aaron Rodgers and Matthews, we'd be screwed, but they NEED to start showing more emotion on the field. Yes, What's gotten Aron to where he is, and what his trademark is, is to be calm and relaxed on the field, but if you don't start hollering at the damn O-Lined, they're not going to show intensity, and they won't care to play better than they are. Aaron needs to get mad, maybe not show it right after a play, but he needs to cuss out the O-Line in the huddle, not to hurt the team of course, but to wake them up, they're men, they can handle it. We have incredible talent, offense and defense, but without Heart and Intensity, that talent will NEVER be utilized. GO PACK GO!

McCarthy has had a tendency to make bone-headed coaches decisions in the past, but the Giants game was his worst day as head coach of the Packers period. The game is over and we move on, but when you're team is so short-handed because of injuries the head coach has got to be coaching exceptionally well, including making adjustments. In the game against the Vikings, the Packers will still be tremendously short-handed defensively and offensively. McCarthy has got to get his head out of his butt and start to coach like he actually has learned a thing or two in this league. It's great having Aaron Rodgers as your QB, but this year, even Rodgers is having a down year. The Webster interception was simply unacceptable. You have to at least look at the coverage before making that throw. My point is that McCarthy's got to be very very creative in his schemes, has to make quick adjustments in game, needs to be involved in the defensive game play, and for God's sake, still with the run and get Starks involved early and often. This team can still win the Super Bowl but not with a coach who can't understand why you don't attempt a 55-yard FG outside in the cold with a kicker who's kicking under the Mendoza and a coach who can't understand why you for it on 4th and inches from the 11 when you're down 10. And lose the idiotic mustache. Please.

Long-time Pack fan but I have to concur with comments by more than a few other faithful. While it is doubtful that the Packers would have won and GB simply doesn't have the current talent (with key players injured) to match the Giants, the GB fans still see some bonehead coaching decisions (to go with the string of last second half-time and end of game errors beginning with Pack v. Giants last winter). (1st) Why attempt to kick a 55yd field goal with a mediocre kicker--or maybe any visiting kicker on a cold eve from that distance in Meadowlands?? This was putting the game on the line ... you can't give Manning the ball at mid-field with GB's bottom tier defense and expect him not to score. Statistically non-sensical and probably game over, again, with GB's defense. (Yes a game can be lost in the first half ... ahhh, recall last two play-off meetings between these teams.) BUT, if we give the benefit of the doubt and assume McCarthy saw game getting out of hand if GB didn't score almost every time it had the ball, then why this 2nd decision: GB absolutely has to go for 4th and a foot or simply give the game a way. (Yes a game can be lost in the first half ... see above.) It was a foregone conclusion that the Giants would score 35+ against the Packers (especially w/o key defenders), and 40+ with Packer Turnovers. As typical during most of past 15 yrs, Packers hope for winning a big one was to match score for score and have a net turnover advantage. YOU NEVER retreat against a powerful offensive team (or certainly powerful relative to your defense) and, if poor defense, you never, ever settle for field goal when trading scores and a TD is probable.

Here, GB going for only "3" displays no confidence in its defense, let alone its offense: If missed going for 1st down, then you put this same defense on the line to hold and force a punt with good field position back to GB. If the defense can't hold Giants when backed up, then the game is over anyway against an opponent that's going to score almost at will. Therefore, you always, always, always go for the 1st down (and a foot) against a good offensive team (Giants) inside the 20 and especially when GB has a defense incapable of holding Giants and itself is supposed to have a great offense. A team has to score several TD's to win these types of games and therefore can never forego those opptys during a game. .... SO, have we beaten this concept enough!? Don't leave it to the defense or later in the game, GB must build on its strengths ... which admittedly are difficult to discern after the Giants' thrashing. Coaches, have these scenarios drawn-out in writing before the game so as to make a logical and unemotional decisions.

The Giants will likely be there again in January at the end and the next time these two teams meet the legacy of this Rodgers-McCarthy era team definitely will be on the line. The worst Pack drubbings in past 15 years were both at hands of the Giants (and a 3rd in just past 5 years upon the total failure of Favre led Pack in his last year--even as score of that one was closer than play indicated). .... Come on, if playing the Giants in this generation, our Pack must play offense at every moment to win, no discussion ... period.

As I understand it the actual time the ball is in play ( from the snap to the refs whisle) is less than 10 minutes for the whole game. If the players and coaches can't give a 100% effort for this amount of time they should find new vocations. For the coaching staff I say this game performance counts practice is just that " practice". We are not buying tickets and watching because of practice performances which don't mean a thing unless carried onto the field during a game against a opponent.

Hi JUSTIRON, I understand what your saying. Sadly these guys don't appear to care about the fans or they would take more pride in their performance. Today's "athletes" are a joke!

You know, these players that you are all holdng up on that pedestal are humans, just like you and me. Humans are flawed, they make mistakes, they have off days, they have days when their heart isn't in it. But as humans we bounce back, we mend, we correct, we live. Before you go bashing the players for having an off day to a VERY good opponent, look at yourself and ask if you ever had an off day, all of us have. And if you give me this shit about having your heart in it 24/7/365 because you were or are in the military, save it, I did 6 tours in OEF/OIF and there were days when my heart wasn't in it 100%. Granted my job meant if I didnt do it people died. These are regular guys playing a game we love to watch, it's not the end of the world when they lose to a great team like the Giants.

You know, these players that you are all holdng up on that pedestal are humans, just like you and me. Humans are flawed, they make mistakes, they have off days, they have days when their heart isn’t in it. But as humans we bounce back, we mend, we correct, we live. Before you go bashing the players for having an off day to a VERY good opponent, look at yourself and ask if you ever had an off day, all of us have.
You can blame the coaches for a lot, and god knows we have. BUT, you can't give the entire team heart transplants. I will go further and say this is not only the worst loss for the Packers, but the worst loss, in terms of focus, heart and intensity, I have ever seen, and I have been coaching football (college and Secondary School) for 47 years!

I'm a woman and supposedly women don't know anything about football, or so I've been told. Therefore, can someone please me this?? In 2010, the Packers won the SB as wildcard contenders. In 2011, with the same players and few bit more from the previous SB season, they went 15-1 and lost the chance in the playoffs. Now here it is 2012, with even more rookies, still SB players remaining, and just... can't... win. How in the world is this possible? What changed other than one coach that moved upward to manage a team for himself (Philbin - Dolphins)?

Being a packer fan in NY/NJ just got a whole lot tougher . If you show up to a game for " Gods " sake, play the game, or at least make an attempt !
I would tape that score to every piece of packer equipment, lockers, helmets, toilets, buses , whatever ! Let it soak in real deep for the rest of the season.

Here are the problems

1. We need a couple of good offensive linemen

2. We need a couple of good pass rushers. When Matthews is out we have none.

3. We need a reliable kicker

The 49ers and Giants dominated us on the offensive and defensive lines and you can't win like that

9 B.J. Raji: I know in Mr Capers system you are supposed to take on two players, however you used to be able to get off the blocks and still be disruptive. Show me what you got, what you got Raji.

10. Training staff: Its called stretching out. Its what you do to avoid muscle injuries. Google it.

11. Bush: If you are going to continue to make the team as a special teams professional, please, just for one kick, ACT LIKE A PROFESSIONAL. As opposed to a low rent thug. You carry yourself more like a peacock than a football player. Mabye a move to philly would suit you.

13. Everyone else except John Kuhn: Stop waiting for someone else to win the game for you. Stop playing safe and start making some plays.

Here are some quotes from me...Ive seen the film...

1. A.J.Hawk: you are out of position/getting beat on every play.. for the last upteen games. If you can't play, retire.

2. Safties... see #1 and #3

3. Tremon Williams...Tackleing is part of the game of football. Just incase you didn't know.

4. Don't forget TT also drafted these tackles that cant play. Newhouse is a back-up and shouldn't be starting, so it's not his fault. sherrod and others are manderich part II. Who are these great tt picks? Rodgers fell to twenty something..that was a no brainer...Please enlighten me.

5. The pack will get beat by every good team. Thank god every other team in our division is worse. One and done.. if that.

6. Rodgers is a terrible cold weather QB. You should be doing a thermal underware double check. Also, I suspect you have a new totaly hot girlfriend, and that is why your game is off. I've seen this happen alot.(romo and vitor belfort) She and many others will be there in the off season.

7. Same giants game plan as last meeting. Were are the adjustments Mr. Capers? Anyone who wants to beat the pack need only attack the middle of the field.

You guys got beat as bad as ive ever seen a team get beat. Hang your heads in shame.

I don't know about heart. I think they started with heart, but McCathy killed it when he didn't have the heart or confidence in one of the best quarterback's in the NFL. What the h,,, were you thinking. Also, no excuse for not calling more quick hitting plays, slants, and yes what's happened to the screen plays that were so effective with Bret. Newsome was pathetic and Lange not much better. Where the heck was the pass rush, Eli could have made a sandwich before he had to throw the ball. I don't want to hear about no heart, these guys get millions to play a game once a week. Most of us have to bust to our butts to pay for groceries. McCarthy is not a very good offensive coach. Doesn't seem to know what to do. McCarthy, you're the one who better look in the mirror. Capers, great defensive coordinator, I don't see it. Lets hope this is a wake up call, Go Packers, still love you guys, but you've disappointed your fans immensely with the showing last night.

If the Packers need to find some heart they should háve spent some time on the New Jersey shore with the victims of hurricane Sandy. I am a Packer fan since 1961 as my moniker indicates. All that time I have lived in either NY or NJ. I am retired now and spend as much as possible helping friends and former co-workers in NJ recover from Sandy. You want heart, see the people here rebuilding their lives after losing everything and I mean everything, homes, businesses, loved ones in the worst cases. Yet these people carry on with a positive attitude every day. Bring the Packers here, they find the heart they need. As for firing coaches, staff, etc..., let's remember that this team is 42 - 17 in regular season games since 2009. That has to be one of the best, if not the best in the NFL since 2009. I think the coaches and TT must have at least something to do with that. If not then come back to NJ and find some heart and what's really important. Thanks,

Here's why I believe the players DID show up.

If MM goes for it rather than have Crosby attempt a FG 25 yards outside his current range and score a TD, the Giants' D is on its heels.

If MM goes for it on 4th and inches he tells his team I believe in you. Instead, he tells them I don't trust you to make one inch. That message is devastating to a team's psyche. Rodgers, as the O's leader, should've called timeout and begged MM to go for it. That's what Brees would've done.

Having gagged on those two decisions and told his team he didn't believe in them, you could stick a fork in the Packers.

And the Giants did precisely that.

It was sickening. Purely and utterly sickening.

I've been a acker fanatic since I was 8 years old and listening to the Packers (tobin Rote eRa) in N. Minn., and I loved the way those Packers played Win or Lose...they played "smash-mouth football, and took it personally when the other team crossed mid-field...lsdt nite I saw too many smiles and strutting when they made a play...which was rare indeed....They need to regroup and maid a re-commitment to this season and play with emotion and like their very paycheck depended on their next play ...thankfully #12 wasn't hurt///but if they play the Vikings that way next week...the season will be over...Wake Up Pack you have to play hard & with an attitude for 60 minutes st 100% intensity...when the final whistle blows..THEN you can strut or dowhatever you do in a victory
