Nobody talks about desmond bishop he is the best tackler on the team. And DJ smith is probably better than hawk. In their defense linebackers are so vital and it doesn't help having your inside LBs out for the run D. Bishop could also blitz and man to man coverage is above average. Zombo and So'oto could help with the run D as well

Lots of people here are sayin' that there is horrible tackling. When you get someone as skilled and as strong as AP, he's hard to wrap up. Its not just our team that's struggled against him, he is one of the best backs in history, so remember that. Though we do have problems with tackles on the outside really, center isn't so bad, its near the sidelines. Clay will be great to have back, same with Woodson, but hopefully Shields is back since we've definetly missed him as well. Should be a good welcome back game for a couple boys, since the Lions aren't a threat like the Bears.

folks, the game is won in the trenches. If we don't block on offense we are going to get out mvp qb hurt. We were thin at o-line to start the year, and injuries have not helped. Until our younger guys block better, we are going to have problems scoring points.

Having said that, all the talk about the defense comes down to two things. Line play and tackling. We have not tackled well all season and AP just emphasized that. But, bad as we think Cutler is, he will chew us up if we don't get more of a pass rush. Our db's get exposed when the opposing qb has a lifetime to pass, or a huge hole to escape the pocket. When we get these three areas down, we will be as good as anyone.

Green Bay has lucked out with its soft schedule to be 8-4. They have the worst offensive line in the league, the worst kicker by far in the league (he can't kick in good weather or domes and its about to get cold,he's only going to get worse and cost the Pack another game.."Colts") and an average defense at best that has been getting exposed in the run game for the poor tackling team that it is. They are also either the worst conditioned team in the league with the worst trainers or just a big bunch of pussies with all the injuries more worried about money and making commercials (Jennings,Raji,Matthews). Makes me miss Brett Favre even more at least you know he would play every game hurt or not because he always would man up and never needed a game off to rest!!!!I'm tired about hearing about Ted Thompson and how great he is in the draft and all of his depth he has.He has depth at one position wide receiver. What happens if Rodgers goes down? Harrell please!! Where is the depth on the offensive line?2 practice squad players horrible!!!!How about on defense?Where is the pass rush without Clay?0 sacks against the Vikings last week!!!Thompson gets too much credit and not enough criticism for his draft picks and depth.Lets mention about his horrible overated first round picks.Justin Harrell injury prone plus new that coming out of draft that he was in college),B.J. Raji (overrated fat ass)Derrick Sherrod(bust injury prone),Bryan Bulaga(bust... can't pass protect, slow and now hurt),Nick Perry bust!!!! never heard of him one dimensional player can't cover or play the run and now the pussy is hurt you never waste a first round pick on a 1 dimensional player!!!

Yes believe it or not I am a Packer fan but a very realistic one. I see the team for what it is and it is definitely not a good one. They have a ton of weakenesses that have been exposed lately and they are very overated!!The Vikings a very one dimensional team the Pack new what they were going to do and couldn't stop them and thats sad.Looking forward to Woodson coming back why?He is old, injury prone, and bad penalty prone because he is washed up!! That leaves Mr. Rodgers the self centered pre-madonna qb. If he gets protection and nobody touches him he is an elite qb which anybody would be. However if he gets hit sacked,or pressured he gets an attitude starts throwing picks, gets scared and is like a deer in headlights. With the Pack's horrible offensive line we can expect alot more of this.

So sorry to sound so negative Pack fans but I'm being honest and I'm not blind. Just think even with all of these problems the Pack should be 9-3 (Seattle b.s.)but this is definitely not a Super Bowl team and will be exposed in the playoffs with no running game,no pass rush, horrible kicker and offensive line!!Teams will sit back in a cover 2 with a 4 more front still get pressure and frustrate Rodgers into picks and poor throws without the threat of a running game.So be disappointed when they lose in the playoffs but not surprised. There is no way you can make an honest argument for the points I just made about their weaknesses the numbers don't lie.The only thing you can say is their 8-4 record but like I said they will get exposed for their weakenesses in the playoffs and then people will realize Mr. Thompson doesn't really have that much depth....

The only tangible problem with the Packers right now that is causing their weak performances in some recent games is their poor pass blocking up front. Injuries hurt (no pun intended) but the players just haven't been motivated and played with energy through most of this season.

If I could give that team a pep talk it would be this: There are millions of people, from kids to adults, that would do anything to play in the NFL and specifically for the Green Bay Packers. I know you get paid and work very hard for it, but if you view playing football in the NFL as a job rather than an enormous blessing and privilege, you need to recheck your attitude or move on to something else.

Why such concern about defense. Will get even better when IR guys return. McCarthy is right when it is offense that needs to score more. OL needs to improve pass protection.

chad, safetys arent meant to be run support. theyre supposed to be a "safety net" over the top. nothing is supposed to get past them. linebackers are meant for run defense. using a safety up on the run is more or less for having an extra man up there that the offense has to block immediately. the average running back probably out-weighs the average safety by around 30 lbs. thats a mismatch from the get go. i dont really expect them to make the tackle in the open field, but i sure like it if they do.

Things are looking great for the Packers right now. Most of the players should be getting back into the game especially these next 4 games and plaloffs. Playoffs!!! Did I hear playoffs??? When you look around the league, who would of thought the the Packers, Niners, and Giants would be all tied up in the NFC race (accept for Alanta) with four games left. The Pack has a great opportunity, to even seize home feild advantage if they canm, and they will finish strong, with key players getting back in there!!! Go Pack Go!!!

First of all.. safeties are meant to help out in the run.. hence the word safety?? why were we having the safety creep into box if hes not supposed to give run support? If you get your hands on him. WRAP UP! Thats the problem. They will get it cleaned up tho. And we are hurting without the great 36 back there. Agreed although.. AP is a beast. The key is to limit his space. And good luck on that. If the pack wants to make that legendary run. They better figure out how to keep A-rod upright and clean.. Thats the key. I never seen a qb win a game on the ground. (unless your rg3 and playing the giants.. for those who caught the game lastnight.)

Didn't expect AP to have the day he had but then again we are missing our 2 best defensive players and a handful of others. I am very optimistic and excited about all the talent in our secondary especially since Woodson's carreer is coming to an end. We really miss 36 but what can you do? It's time for Clay to get back out there and I know he's ready. Expect a big game from 52 when that time comes

We know that we have always had to get Adrian Peterson in the backfield. That is when our success has come against him. Nothing more, nothing less, we just didn't bring him down in the backfield, and 200 yards was the result. We gotta stop the run. We didn't stop it last week either, and that had to have been a goal right.

What do you guys think about the defense? Do you think the players are comfortable in the scheme? They don't look like it. They look best in just straight man-to-man. Except, I think the safeties need to be more consistent in coverage. I rather not give up the wide open catches, even if the tackle does come shortly after.

The exotic looks are nice, but they aren't fooling the veteran QB's, and if the players aren't comfortable, the scheme won't be the biggest success. Dom, let's ask the players what they think, and we into latter part of the season. Let's come up with something great, that the players can excel in.

Give respect where it is due. AP is a monster. That is reflected in his ability to both break a tackle, and the fact that the Vikings strategy largely involves giving him the ball as much as possible.

Okay okay calm down, guys. This was not a must win game. Important, yes. Must win? No. Our season would not have been over if we lost the game. And in Morgan Burnett's defense, there were plenty of missed tackles on both of AP's long runs. You can't put the blame on just him. I'd be looking at people that are meant to stop the run, AJ Hawk and Brad Jones.
