The Packers are patronizing the fans with talk about returning Wood given he is such a fan favorite. I believe they have no intention to return him given the play of the younger guy’s. The Packers are playing us. Return Wood!.

Woodson is gonna be rusty whenever he comes back.But I believe the Packers D will benefit from his presence even in a limited role.

Better to play safe on a collar bone. Is it the same one he broke a while ago? Don’t know, but Charles is missed and it would be good to get him back even if just to keep everyone fresh against the good teams in the playoffs.

I’m leery of Woodson playing in the playoff game after being out so long. You always hear the players talk about how the intensity revs up from the regular season. Woodson is a great player, but he is older, and slowing down. I hope the Packers are smart with how they use him. Remember they put Al Harris on Plaxico Burris in ’07 and left him alone, and didn’t make the adjustment to help. Just my two worthless cents.

When the Packers signed Woodson everyone (critics) said management were nuts. Ha ha ha, management and CW had the last laugh. NEVER under estimate him. Many teams do and that is why he picks 6 more than most. The game is far from over. Back or not I will always respect the man. He is a great player, loves the game, inspires his team and a leader. If he is out there are many team that could use a man with his knowledge, intellect, leadership and insiration. CW if you read any of this pls do not listen to the haters. vr AD

Woodson is the consumate professional athlete. He’s been to numerous pro bowls because of his superior skills. These facts lead me to believe he can be productive at the “drop of a hat” and when he returns to the lineup he’ll be productive. He has ALL my confidence!

Scott, This will ‘only’ be the 10th week since Woodson was injured (Week 7 vs. the Rams). He could probably play but the personnel staff likely doesn’t want to risk re-injuring his clavicle on astroturf, which is essentially cement covered by a thin rug and is the easiest playing surface to get hurt on, due to its hardness and the increase in player speed (ergo increase in force). Don’t forget the last 2 times he injured his collar bone were in Dallas and St. Louis.

Woodson is a key player in our defense, he was on a Pro Bowl run AGAIN this year with 1.5 sacks, 2 int’s, and 17 tackles IN THE FIRST FOUR GAMES! Come on people! Why does ANYBODY think that he can’t still be a Pro Bowl Starter? Look at A.P. this week, or Peyton Manning. BOTH older players, BOTH having the best seasons of their career!!! IT’S HEART and the WILL to be BETTER than you WERE! I had a HUGE injury to my shoulder early my sophomore year, then I came back the last game of the year. HOURS and HOURS in the weight room, PT, I would NOT give up. And I DID play, my point is that when I DID play again for the next 2 years my coach said my play was 200% better. A scary season ending injury sux especially because you think you’ll NEVER be as good as before but these Pros THRIVE on ADVERSITY and when a guy thats as much of an IMPACT player as Woodson is out with that kind of injury BELIEVE ME, it’s WAY MORE about being a BETTER PLAYER than RECOVERING from THAT injury. “Lose a step”, HA, I LAUGH AT YOU MY GOOD FELLOW!! You watch, He’s gonna be a MONSTER out there!!! Sorry so long on my soap box

Woodson may no longer be the best cover guy, but the defense is better in a lot of situations with him in the game.

Taking the conservative route with Woodson is the right call if the medical staff doesn’t feel he’s completely healed he shouldn’t play. As much as I love Charles and I’m sure the Packers miss his leadership, it’s far more important that he be totally good to go in the playoffs. The time off won’t hurt his play. Man knows how to play football. Frankly, I’m more worried about Jordy Nelson’s hammy. Those things take forever to heal. I wouldn’t be entirely surprised if he missed the entire playoffs, which would be a huge loss.

You would much rather have Woodson than Jarrett Bush in the Dime package. If woodson could take contact, he would be in there. “Practice” for the past several weeks has been WITHOUT pads (maybe if you read the article you would have known that, Scott) 6 weeks to heal a broken bone is the minimum needed. No doubt, CW has lost a step, but he makes up for his physical limitations with a limitless knowledge of the game. I hope he does return as a position coach (who’s to say he isn’t the one grooming Heyward?)

Charles Woodson is long past his prime, that is why he was moved to safety. The move was not because they had no other options but to lengthen the career of a struggling cornerback. Woodson’s many penalties have kept teams in games and lead to many points. As a safety he doesn’t have to get locked up in man coverage which eliminates a lot of those costly penalties. Would it be nice to have him back at safety for the playoffs? Heck yes! As a safety he is among the best in the game, but as a corner he was done 2 years ago. For people who are hooked on his leadership ability, I say, what leadership ability? Watching him direct the defense is troublesome at best. He seems confused and often confuses others leading to coverage breakdowns. I say let him play safety and look else where for leadership for that D.

Regardless of the chemistry that our defense has right now, Woodson is one of the best defensive players ever, and having him healthy, hungry and focused going into the playoffs can be another great boost for this already dynamic defense. Go Pack!

Hey to all you Woodson lovers! If he is such a help practicing and is able to practice then why cant he then play…..play in practice then play in the game. Something doesnt smell right here….it is a 8 wk injury and we are going on wk 12-13 now…..either Woodson is healthy or he is not….maybe the coaches dont want to bring him back and foul up the chemistry already formed after a nearly whole season without him. Put Woodson on IR and lets move on…..he can try and win a job next year,….which I doubt he will do. Woodson is done….time to coach now.

Anyone thinking about Jennings? What if he is lost to free agency and signed by the Bears to go with Marshall or Detroit to go with Johnson ? I think the Packers need to sign him soon or it could cost them more than just $$$.

Scott if you think Woodson doesn’t help this team, I’m afraid your not playing with a full deck. As far as Woodson not playing this weekend, I’m thinking Woodson trying to lay out AP when he hit’s second gear is a re-injury waiting to happen. He’s been around long enough in this league, he won’t miss a beat in the playoffs!
