Mike Gage, the board president of the Packers Hall of Fame, Inc., and a former member of the Green Bay Packers’ board of directors, died on Sunday at the age of 75.
Gage’s family has had a long association with the Packers. Gage’s grandfather, Andrew Turnbull, was the Packers’ first president back in the 1920s and one of the founders of the Green Bay Press-Gazette. Turnbull was the newspaper’s first publisher, and Gage became its third publisher. Gage retired from his newspaper work in 1992.
Gage became a member of the Hall of Fame board in 1980 and was that board’s president at the time of his death. He was elected to the Packers’ board of directors in 1999 and became director emeritus in 2007.
