Hankins says he can play any position in 3-4 defense

INDIANAPOLIS–Ohio State’s Johnathan “Big Hank” Hankins is one of the top prospects in a deep crop of defensive linemen in this draft. Hankins might be especially tempting to the Packers because it’s believed his talents lend themselves to a 3-4 defense.

“In a 3-4, I can play end or the nose,” Hankins said.

Hankins measured in at 6-2, 320, and will workout at the scouting combine on Monday. He will  not participate in the bench press drill, as he will leave that for his pro day.

“I’m going to show my motor, let my efforts speak for themselves,” he said.

Big Hank certainly would be an excellent addition to the Packer DL, especially with the aging Pickett. Pickett can still play, however he could play less downs and in the long would benefit his season tenure.

Many of us were excited by the addition of Jerel Worthy last draft.
But where was he during the season?
He didn’t make an impact at all, and basically that key 2nd round pick didn’t help at all.

Then he ended his season in the week 17 loss by tearing his ACL & will probably miss the whole season like Andrew Quarless did when he tore his late in the 2011 season.

It might be premature, but I am going to go on record and say that is going to be a wasted pick.

At least it wasn’t a 1st round flopper like Justin Harrell. Why are DL so hard to draft right for us? It took 3 years for Mike Neal to provide any impact too.

Im not ready to give up on Worthy just yet…unless he comes back and immediately suffers another season-ending injury. That being said, if the Packers cant draft a DL (or two) in this years draft, shame on them!
