KANSAS CITY–The Packers were down by 14 points heading into the final quarter of Thursday’s preseason finale at Arrowhead Stadium.

Early in the third quarter, Vince Young was sacked and stripped of the ball. The Chiefs recovered at the Packers 42-yard line. Cornerback Brandon Smith, however, killed a promising Chiefs drive by intercepting a Tyler Bray pass at the Packers 3-yard line.

When the Chiefs got the ball back, however, Smith was the victim of a 43-yard Bray to Josh Bellamy bomb that staked the Chiefs to a 20-6 lead with 6:03 to play in the third quarter.

A Tim Masthay punt was downed by Myles White at the Chiefs 2-yard line, and on second down rookie linebacker Sam Barrington shot through the line to tackle Bray for a safety.
