McCarthy reacts at halftime of #GBvsKC

Posted by Duke Bobber on August 29, 2013 – 8:34 pm

(on his impression of the team in the first half) “Well, we just told the offense it’s a bump-and-run, man-to-man game. This is great work for our quarterbacks against pressure. We’ve got to extend the play more, whether it’s the run-blocking unit, the pass-protection unit—get after the guys on the perimeter. Defensively, I think we’re doing a heck of a job, particularly keeping them out of the end zone here. We had the one penalty that extended the drive. We’re doing a great job on third down. Special teams is always a challenge in this game and we’ve just got to do a better job keeping our sideline management, making sure we’re coordinating who is in this game.”

(on how it feels to return to Kansas City, the place where he began his career) “It’s always special coming back here. Great place.”

I would guess that this game will make the roster cut down much much easier. Obviously offensive line has little to no real back up and D line schemes are shaky but know that the real ones are not on the table yet.

It is still not to late to fire the worst defensive coordinator in the NFL today. Yes I am talking about Dom Capers. I for one would be willing to contribute money for his air fare to any other city in the nation. It is going to be a long season, especially trying to stop 3rd and long conversions. Remember last year Dom? And the year before that and the year before that.

We cannot run the ball. Why?

Stop complaining about Capers. Our D has been boss when the starters have been around and he has creativity, better than the 10 to 12 years of defense we had to suffer through before him.

The D is doing much better then in the past, with a few exceptions. They are still playing too far off of potential receivers in the flats and mid-to-deep in the middle of the field.
