  • Sat., Apr. 26, 2014 8:00AM - 6:00PM CDT Packers Pro Shop Tent Sale

The sale is taking place earlier than in previous years, due to the construction at Lambeau Field and the work that the Pro Shop team must complete in preparation for the new store, which will open this summer. Visitors to Lambeau Field should enter the Atrium through the Oneida Nation Gate. Parking is available in the lot on Lambeau Field’s east side near the Oneida Nation Gate, which can be accessed off Oneida Street and Lombardi Avenue.

The sale will feature the traditional mix of Pro Shop items greatly reduced in price and other special purchases.

The team’s football operations staff also has provided Packers team apparel no longer in use, including a large assortment of t-shirts, shorts, jackets, jerseys and pants. Some items are practice-worn gear not normally available in the Pro Shop.

The tent sale began in 1994 in the parking lot outside the former Pro Shop on the north end of Lambeau Field and grew into a popular event. Now in its 11th year in the Atrium, the tent sale also was held in the west side stadium concourse in previous years.

Somebody tell me why we didn’t keep Alex Green?

  3. By Nick on Aug 31, 2013 | Reply

Terrell Manning released over Robert Francois is a head scratcher… one has loads of potential the other is only a special teamer.

  4. By Nick on Aug 31, 2013 | Reply

@ Gardo: Because he couldn’t hit the holes… he would constantly run into the offensive line.

    Should have kept Vince Young

  6. By Brad on Aug 31, 2013 | Reply

We didn’t keep alex green because stark stepped up. From day 1 in training camp mccarthy spoke highly of him and the progress he made. I also believe starks is more versatile where green is more ground and pound which is what lacy gives us.

Robert Francois has been making plays all pre season and if he keeps improving and growing things will get real good

FB Amosa will land somewhere and so will Alex Green. Our backup QB is out there as well. Coleman is not ready.

I am liking the team wish we didn’t lose Baluga for the year that was a big blow. Yet I still find that this team will be improved and will be able to beat any team they go up against. Sure I wish we had a better back up QB incase the worst happens but really how secure do the Patriots, Broncos, Bears, Steelers, Colts, and Saints feel if they lost their starting QB’s so it doesn’t worry me as much. All I can say is let’s stay healthy this year and GO PACK GO!

Thanks folks…we’ll see if Starks can give us some of that 2010 spark.

To Nick, Did you see Francois play? he was all over the field making plays, why Hawk is in front of him is a mystery to me. I really like Manning however and wished he could have made it. very likely he makes another team, perhaps the vikes?

Matt Leinart was released bt Buffalo, I think he would be a more viable option for the Packer offense than Vince Young would have been, hopefully they will sign him or anybody for that matter as backup QB…

Maybe we could get Tebow to backup Rodgers ! Tebow is better than VY & BJC any day. I bet MM and the coaching staff could do wonders for him.

  26. By CJ Davies on Aug 31, 2013 | Reply

He needed to step up as a return guy and clearly didn’t. They’ll need to address that with a free agent. Kuhn/Starks will probably see the cut if its a running back.

  27. By dennis723 on Aug 31, 2013 | Reply

Not too much unexpected. I was hoping with they’d find a way to keep Ty Walker though. He’ll probably end up on someone else’s roster, but if not, hope he gets signed to the practice squad.

Jolly will be player of the year for the Packers. As for Starks, health is a concern. I think he was a one shot deal. Had his 15 mins. of glory. As for Young… He still can play. I will leave it at that.

BJ Colemam?? Really…. Come on Ted! We need a Vet for a QB not a practice squad QB… Cutting Vince Young was not a good decision…

  39. By Eric Anderson on Aug 31, 2013 | Reply

B.J. Coleman is a little concerning as a #2 QB but it could be worse. Tim Tebow flat out sucks and better not end up anywhere near Green Bay. Alot of decent backup QB’s were cut today and I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see one make his way to the Packers.

  40. By Steve on Aug 31, 2013 | Reply

NBC Sports is reporting that “Kickalicious” worked out for the Packers Friday. If true, why was this not reported on Pacakers.com?? I guess Vic was too busy coming up with clever cut downs.

  41. By OMD on Aug 31, 2013 | Reply

Think Young will go on practice squad till he learns the system.Should have been brought in earlier. B.J. has an opportunity. Jolly, way to go!

  42. By aplinal on Aug 31, 2013 | Reply

I was surprised with Young as well, but over the preseason and training camp he obviously didn’t show enough. He had a stinker at KC. I agree with another posters – our back-up QB is not yet on the roster.

RB worries me a bit. I like Kuhn, but felt he had started to underperform last season, and only three HBs? Seems all our eggs are in the Lacy basket. He better stay healthy! And Franklin needs to seriously up his game.

OL still looks thin, and Bulaga going down was the worst news from TC for me. Hope Aaron can stay upright, or get rid sooner. If (and It’s a big if at the moment) we can get the run game going, then the Offence will do fine.

I like the Dline, especially happy for Johnny Jolly. He brings a new dimension to the DL. Still not convinced about the ILBs, but looking forward to Perry making this his come out year.

Special teams is sound, we have the best punter in the NFL, in my opinion, and I hope Crosby is over the slump. He knows that TT WILL go out to get someone if he flops again.

It’s a team that should make the Play-off so long as Aaron stays healthy, then anything can happen.

    Go Pack Go!!

I’m not as concerned about backup QB’s as I am getting a solid, definite O-line! All the shifting is effecting Rodgers.

  44. By charlie beatty on Aug 31, 2013 | Reply

Young is not eligible for the practice squad. I don’t see Coleman as a #2 QB. Tebow would be another mistake. What other options are available now?

I am so happy Johnny Jolly made the team! Congrats to Johnny!

  46. By Iggy on Aug 31, 2013 | Reply

Vince Young was released because he’s got little upside – can run but he’s 30 yrs old, he has a 2 cent head, he is way too inconsistent and he isn’t particularly decisive.
Tebow is a terrible choice! He’d have difficulty making it in the CFL much less in the NFL. He cannot throw.

Once again shaking my head at the folks fixating on the last cuts and too many predicting doom and gloom.

The historically powerful Niners are only 4.5 point favorites at home against this Packers club. The wise guys know how good this Packer team is.

My advice: Focus on the top line players we HAVE from now until a week from tomorrow. This is going to be a fun season!

  49. By ChukyChez1 on Aug 31, 2013 | Reply

Minnesota cut Bray. He’s like a young Rogers, with a rifle arm. BJ Coleman isn’t much better then Young or Harrell. Stark over Green is puzzling. There should be a lot of good pick up’s out there. Tebow would be like another Young. Maybe they can pick up a little help for the offensive line. Pretty much a patch job now, & a little thin.

  50. By Gabriel on Aug 31, 2013 | Reply

Why did we keep Josh Boyd instead of Jordan Miller? Miller was MUCH better than boyd I don’t understand sometimes. And BJ Coleman as Backup!!?!? Hopefully #12 can wear 12 helmets!!

  51. By Rob Parrott on Aug 31, 2013 | Reply

If VY was any good he would have been kept by all the other teams that had him. BJ Coleman is a work-in-progress, but you can’t teach an old dog (TY) new tricks.

We’re going with BJ Coleman at backup? With a rookie LT on a line that gave up the most sacks in the league last year? Man, I sure hope Ted and Mike have a Plan B because I really don’t like Plan A.

What I will not miss is all the over-analyzing from the half million armchair quarterbacks in Wi. Thompson will find a steal for the backup QB. He is a good GM and will do what he’s paid to do.That said, I can’t wait for the season to begin. God bless the Packers & Packer fans everywhere!!!!!

not liking the Starks over Green. Green was so much greater and had a better future plus Starks is so injury prone. Im trusting the Packers coaching staff that this is going to be a smart choice. And not taking Tyrone Walker was a pretty bad idea. He in my opinion showed much more potential than Ross or Boykin.

Ok so we keep Starks who not only showed he’s a liability holding on to the football and is constantly nagged by injuries, but we release Green who not only had the longest run for GB last year and lead the team in rushing but also made big strides this year and had the highest average per carry and again the longest run outperforming all other backs in the “2nd level”. Makes perfect sense.

I’m hoping Ravens running back Bobby Rainey flys under the radar and the Packers swoop him up. The guy finished the preseason with 22 carries for 89 yards and 2 TD’s and by the way he also averaged just shy of 32 yards per kickoff return (7 returns). He’s in the mold of Harris without any health issues and has a big special teams upside.

Also, looking for input on the Green/Starks thing..Starks just can’t stay healthy.. What am I missing?

No back up QB? Whose idea is that?

RB, Frank and Steve: We cut a lot of potential. Tebow’s NFL potential has been evaluated by two very good front offices and…well…er… the Jets. If we sign him after cutting some of the talent that we did, please keep me away from sharp objects and high places.

  76. By D4GB on Aug 31, 2013 | Reply

The reason they cut Tyrone Walker was he failed to impress after the catch. Could he catch the ball.. absolutely. Did he show the necessary drive and effort…no question. However, drive and effort only get you so far and 11 catches for 86 yards a 7.8 yard average does not exemplify the type of production GB is looking for in that position. I think he’ll be looked over and be placed on the practice squad and looked at again next year to see if he develops the necessary elusiveness to improvise after the catch.

  77. By Diane on Aug 31, 2013 | Reply

Why don’t they get Aaron Rodgers’ brother as a back-up. I am sure Aaron has spent a lot of time with him already. I heard that Arron’s brother may be going to the Bears. Is this true?

Should have been Young over Coleman and Green over Starks. Young can move out of the pocket and Green is a lot “fresher” than Starks…. but I am still hoping to see more backfield tackling (five yards past line of scrimmage), last couple of years safety area has been lax in tackling, go gettem’ guys!

They better not get rid of starks and kuhn! Hey look people its the greenbay packers were talking about! Who won the super bowl in 2010! The packers did, and we won it with a lot of players hurt, witch means we had 2 string and 3 string in. We can do it again. Yea its upsetting to see are players get let go but, the packers know what they are doing. Some times just need some younger guys out there, they might not be all that grate but got to give them a chance to work out. You don’t know , unless you give them a chance. Hey they might just come out and shine. But mason crosby had too many chances to shine he needs to go. Stark and kuhn still have it they just need to regroup. They helped us win in 2010. Jonny jolly is good too he help us too with raji, but jolly just needs to stay out of trouble. But whatever the packers pick is ok with me because I will always be a packer fan. Glod bless this team because he’s the only man that can help us win! Good players or not, pray to god because he does things we can not! Go Pack Go!

I’ve been hearing Jimmy Clausen tossed around as a possible backup QB for the Pack. Alex Green had one memorable play in the preseason that I can recall. Vince Young came in at the very end and still made more production in his short time than Harrell or Coleman. I didn’t like that cut, but there is always the option that he can be signed after the first week of regular season when his money isn’t guaranteed. So we shall see!!!

Hey braindead the packers use the preseason to evaluate talent and has no real barring on how good the team will be this year unless our whole first string o and d get hurt, and who is this david clowney guy. Its not worth tanking a whole season for some guy ive never heard of. Jadveon Clowney looks like a pretty good player though, he must be davids less talented brother or something.

David Carr could hold the clipboard — a decent veteran backup capable of running the offense, if necessary, for a couple games.

What is this loyalty to Vince Young? Seriously, he was on the team for a week or two. The coaches saw enough. And BJ Coleman has a super quick release, just like Rodgers. Just has to settle down and not throw the picks.

Roster looks about how I imagined Bostick has some potential at TE is the word. The Packers secondary depth is the envy of the league. Hope we sign kickalicious Finally no one should be sad to see Vince Young go he throws more INT than TD and take away his runs and he had one of the worst preseasons of all QBs that tried out for teams this year.

I don’t understand why AJ Hawk gets a free roster spot every season? Just because he’s willing to take a pay cut. I thought the goal was to get better? I’m no coach or GM but I’ve watch enough football to know he trails too many plays to be effective. After 8 or 9 seasons of less than marginal football I want player in the middle!!!

The O line worries me due to little stand out talent but the final roster looks as good as it could be. It sure appears that at this point the best talent found their way on the roster. Would hate to have to be working that list as a coach. The inspirational aspect of the roster is Jolly, a leader and a big man who is badly needed by the D line….I think he will boost the whole team.

Some of you have no football IQ at all. Leinhart, Clausen, TEBOW are you kidding they are pathetic. Alex Green had every opportunity to prove he’s worth keeping and he didn’t do it. Starks at least proved this preseason that he’s worth a shot again, besides, he’s not going to play a great deal, Lacy is getting 80-90% of the carries. I doubt Coleman will still be the #2 vs the niners. If anyone doesn’t trust our coaches then go cheer for the Vikings. TT and MM know what they are doing. They will get good guys on the practice squad. Also, remember one last thing. The Packers are DEEP and have talent all over. Good teams have the the bitter sweet problem that bad teams wish they had, they must cut talented players. We have to cut guys that can’t make the Pack that will go be every down players for other teams. Chill out the Pack will be great if they stay healthy.

Well since they let Young go and kept Coleman, is dumb. Lets hope that Rodgers does not get hurt this year because Coleman did not show me anything during preseason except a lot of three and outs, which is not a good thing at all. We needed a quarterback that could actually get first downs.

Alex Green was terrible! This QB Coleman was trained by Brett the gunslinger Favre remember #4. Yeah this Coleman is going to be the next gunslinger for Green Bay. Three Hall of Fame QBs in a row Never Never has that happened to an NFL Team! Coleman going to do great! Lacy is going to do exactly what he did at Alabama, run over, spin around and drag players with him in the endzone! What you see is what you get and that’s why TT got him. It was a steal at second round, Lacy falls on your lap after trading down. These things are not suppose to happen. Lacy should have been long gone. Get Lacy after getting Datone Jones, then getting Franklin on everything else. Franklin is having adjustment problems, the Packers are not using him like they used Franklin at UCLA. The Packers are going to have to adjust to him to allow his running abilities to florish and get touch down. Jonnathan Franklin will be just fine.

  144. By D4GB on Sep 1, 2013 | Reply

Mack talk about low football IQ, this guy actually thinks Starks “proved” anything in the preseason. Pretty sure anyone who watched the preseason saw him fail to convert 4th and 2 down by the goal line. He fumbled which is something we didn’t see from Green. His longest run was 10 yards compared to Green’s 31 yard long, and he averaged 3.1/carry to Greens 3.4

Oh and Green had 2 catches in the preseason to Starks 0, the guy can’t even get open on a screen play.

This mentality that we “owe” Starks 50 chances simply because he helped win a Superbowl 3 seasons ago is nonsense. It’s all about what have you done for me lately in the NFL and the answer with Starks is not much.

One thing I remember was why we only saw Starks during the playoff run, and that was because he was in the doghouse during the entire regular season because his work ethic was poor. He didn’t show Packer fans any reason why he deserved a roster spot which is why so many are questioning this move.

Yeah I think Franklin made some strides in that last preseason game although I know I wasn’t alone when he got the carry out of our own endzone and was nearly taken down for a safety.

Franklin is going to make some great plays particularly receiving out of the backfield before the season is done. He’s very good in open space. We didn’t ever get to see Franklin run behind the #1 Oline this preseason either so the best is yet to come for the Mayor.

I’d like to see the cut list for the FANS. Which lounge chair lizard gets tossed first? Could we send some to a Fantasy league or maybe Arena ball? Young isn’t even hanging on the tree to even light up. No deep ball. No improvement from college ball…Green is a no cut, upright runner with zero to no wiggle–why he was even drafted is the question for Thompson when the # 3 pick could have been used for a trade to snag Marshawn LYnch for the SB run. We all see how that worked out for the Seachickens. Coleman KNOWS the playbook! Young, even as a veteran still could not oick up a blitz or read past the first option. Meth Watch Wisconsin–too many teabillies in the stands. When can we cull the herd.
49 whiners are hurting in the nickle and dime DBs. Anquan Bolden is their #1 WR and he’s a possession guy. Dom will double up V. Davis to force the QB to think a bit longer before he runs into one of the outside LBs–that is if Matthews can actually hold contain and not overrun the play or get sucked out of position on the screen read. BIG TIME game coming up. NO need to acknowledge these whining posters. Time for DOM. Time for McCarthy to actually call more than 15 running plays and put a beat down on Aldon Smith and Justin Smith as the Crows did in the SB. Beat them at the edges—you won’t get anywhere with their inside LBs. GO PACK

Vince Young and Tebow? Surely people are joking about these two clowns. They are the Brian Bosworth and Tony Mandarich of the 2000′s. Bosworth got drafted because his mother hired an ad agency to promote him. And once Mandarich got busted for steroids he withered down to a 98 pound weakling.

Get real folks, Young and Tebow were extraordinarily over hyped

Sixtusmaxius, in response to AJ Hawk I didn’t read anything about great play in your article. Which is sort of my point, we don’t need friends ala (Donald Driver), we need better players. I don’t think Hawk could carry Erlachers jock but the Bears knew when to let him go!!!

The Defense is terrible and all positions should be questioned…

@seattal, Status Quo??? Lacy (HUGE upgrade at RB), Datone Jones (upgrade of D-line), Johnny Jolly (like getting another 1st round pick for D-line), David Baktahri (a rookie capable of starting at left tackle in the NFL – major save and upgrade with Bulaga going down.)

So glad your Seahawks won their preseason games, I am sure Pete Carroll feels great about those wins by playing starters deep into the 3rd quarter, LOL!

Tim Tebow has talent but is, and apparently has been, poorly schooled on the fundamentals of throwing the football. I’m not a GM, but until he goes back to his childhood and is taught how to throw a football, he will be nothing but a RB or a receiver. He will never be a QB in this league. The only worry I have about this team is the OL, the D looks fine (living in New Mexico, I only got to watch part of one game!) and my hope is that the D gives our offense good field position all year. I pray for Rodgers’ safety because our OL is basically the same except they changed sides. Are they ready? From reading only, it seems that our first team did not get enough snaps during the pre-season and the OL, with the changes made really needs them. Since I moved from Wisconsin, I feel like an outsider and generally keep my comments to myself. I am in my 60′s and have been a Packer fan all my life. GO PACK GO!!!

I cannot believe how some people are fretting over players 51-53. Relax – the coaching staff sees these guys up close EVERY DAY and know WAY more than you or I do about who can do what. Remember all the angst about releasing Tori Gurley? How did his career work out?
Also, no way TT and MM go with BJ at backup QB. Maybe he dresses one game and then a veteran gets signed (so his salary is not guaranteed). BJ will be on the practice squad Week 2 at the latest.

Why is everyone hating on BJ? I understand everyone wants a veteran backup, but Vince Young is not a great fit for the Pack either. BJ is just the best option we have right now. The Pack OL isn’t that bad when you really think about it, the team needs have a second dimension in their offense which they get with lacy and starks. I would taken starks over green for the most part as ong as starks can stay healthy that is the only set back because he definately has a lot of talent.

D.J. Williams signed by the Jags; Alex Green by the Jets. Always disappointed to see some favorite vets released, but that’s life in the NFL. Tim Tebow has a future in the NFL, if he’s willing to be a little flexible. He can be an effective Paul Hornung/Frank Gifford style running back, but not a conventional drop-back QB in the near future.

Next week might be painful for Rogers and Lacey. I wonder if any of the Packers starting offensive linemen would even make the 49er’s roster. Forget starting.

So our GM admits he made a mistake releasing Young. He states that this all lies at his feet. He also states he should of had Young in sooner and it his fault. So, Mr Thompson if the Packers don’t have an experience backup QB and AR go’s down and the team & all of us suffer by not making it deep into the playoffs we will hold you accountable? Should you be cut? Question, Are you building for just a playoff team or to win a Superbowl Mr. Thompson? It takes veteran players in some key positions. Maybe a younger go getter GM is what we need instead of a VETERAN GM that can’t work well with other veteran players and see what they can bring to a team.

I tell you what I see here on this 53 man roster. One injury to an O-linemen, linebacker, or the QB, write off the season and start planning for next year. At least they would get a good draft spot. Another thing I noticed was Hyde marked down as a corner. He should never play any other position than safety. Too slow.

Well, the cuts have been made. Now the team has to focus on and use the players they have. I’m concerned about the O-Line. I hope Dom Capers defensive scheme works. We have a good D-Line, good LBs and good DBs. If the Niners run over us again, it’s time to find a NEW Defensive Coordinator! I agree the Pack has the best punter in the NFL. Cosby could be the best kicker if he can re-capture the form he had in 2011. If Cobb can get healthy our return game will be good too. No matter what GO PACK!

I can’t believe a lot of you want Tebo, he is not a QB. He would be a viable 3rd string QB and a tight end on the roster. Harris is cut because he cant stay healthy, must play to make the team. Packers have enough players on IR, don’t need a so so running back. GB needs to bring in some better linemen, some that can stay healthy. I realize injuries are a part of the game but GB has way too many.

At the end of the day folks, our beloved Packers will only go as far as that O-Line goes. Being a former football coach, I see that we have tried to address all areas of need including RB, LB, DL/DT and CB/Safety. We have some good young talent everywhere except OL. We can’t keep watching #12 get up off the floor due to average talent at OL. The past two years we couldn’t get past round 2 of the playoffs. Mike McCarthy and TT need to make sure we have good O Lineman and all the rest will take care of itself.
