The Green Bay Packers Foundation, in conjunction with the NFL Foundation, presented a $250,000 grant to a local high school football program this past Friday night.
Ashwaubenon High School, which is located just a few blocks south of Lambeau Field, will use the money for redevelopment of its football stadium and practice fields. The grant was presented to the team at the school’s Goelz Field prior to kickoff of its game on Friday.
The Packers secured the funds through the NFL Club Matching Youth Football Field/Stadium Grant Program as a match of money already raised for the redevelopment project, which is expected to be completed next fall.
This is the second Packers grant done in conjunction with the NFL’s program and the 12th grant, totaling nearly $1.5 million overall, that the Packers have secured since 1998 for Wisconsin organizations working on new or renovated athletic fields and stadiums.
