Clay Matthews, Nick Perry return to practice

Packers starting OLBs Clay Matthews and Nick Perry returned to the practice field on Wednesday on a limited basis, and Mike McCarthy is hopeful both can be back in the lineup this week.

Matthews has missed the last four games with a broken thumb but is trying to practice this week with a club cast on his hand. Perry has missed the last three games with a foot injury.

Wednesday’s practice was short and at a slower-than-normal pace, so Thursday’s workout will be a better indicator of where both players stand.

“I just spent a couple minutes with Clay,” McCarthy said. “It’s his first time wearing a club. There needs to be adjustments that’ll occur during the week. I’m curious to see him practice with it.”

Right guard T.J. Lang missed practice due to his concussion, but he hasn’t been ruled out for Sunday’s game. McCarthy described Lang as “confident” he could get medically cleared this week.

Would be great to see Clay and Nick back on the field, hopefully for the Eagles. And hopefully T.J. had a very mild concussion and can be back on the field this week. GO PACK

Amongst all the bad injury news it would be great to have Matthews, Perry and Lang all back for Sunday.

Matthews might have been a difference maker for us Monday night with Aaron out. It’s all hands on deck right now.

Damn I would love to see another 6-3 wide-out on the
Pack opposite Jordie (Brandon Marshall type)……….
with a healthy Rogers and Lacy/Cobb, it wouldn’t matter how bad our defensive backs are cause we would score 40 + points a game

Ps…..this is not news, but the NFL game is changing quickly…and not for the best, the potential for life-long disabling injuries is a real threat to this business model.

    Good luck all

I know what they mean when they say “club”. However, I always have an iamge in my head of Clay Matthews standing out on the field, foot on top of a sacked QB, holding a giant wooden club in his hand.

I hope all the injured guys get healthy.
