Posted by Mike Spofford on May 1, 2014 – 11:53 am

Former Packers WR James LoftonPro Football Hall of Famer and former Packers receiving great James Lofton will announce the Packers’ second-round draft pick at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on Friday, May 9.

This marks the fourth straight year the NFL has had alumni players announce picks at the draft. Last year’s Green Bay alum was Dave Robinson, who was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame a few months later.

Around the NFC North, the alumni announcing second-round picks will be as follows: LB Mike Singletary for the Chicago Bears, WR Herman Moore for the Detroit Lions and S Joey Browner for the Minnesota Vikings.

Excellent. James was a great performer in what was a very frustrating era for the Packers. Glad to see him get this honor.

and the pick should be Kelvin Benjamin. Do not let the 49ers get him. He is 6’6′ and could become the best TE in the NFL.

IMO, Jeremiah Attaochu might be the best LB left in the draft… he’s very quick. What’s bad though… he punched a QB in a game.

Maybe, Lofton will call out the name of WR Dri Archer or WR Jordan Matthews… for different reasons. Archer does what Randall Cobb does, but is a lot faster (4.26), and Matthews does what Jordy Nelson does, but is also faster (4.46). Either of these 2 very athletic players would fill a need. Archer has the potential of running every return back for a TD.

Alright… I watched some more Attaochu videos, and he’s the next player for the Packers… without a doubt. PLEASE!

“With the 53rd pick, in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Green Bay Packers select Jeremiah Attaochu, Outside Linebacker, Georgia Tech!”

Whoever picks this guy will improve 5-10 spots in team defensive stats! With this guy, we would have the DE or OLB to bookend Clay Matthews. If the Packers need to, they should move up in the draft to get this guy. Peppers is still a BIG ?? in my mind.
