Packers player to be revealed between 80 and 71 in Top 100

Posted by Mike Spofford on May 20, 2014 – 12:38 pm

A Packers player will be revealed on NFL Network’s Top 100 players of 2014 between Nos. 80 and 71 on Wednesday’s show at 8 p.m. CT.

This will be the third Packers player to be revealed on the list so far. Eddie Lacy at No. 90 and Jordy Nelson at No. 83 were featured last week. The list is determined solely by a vote of current NFL players.

Update: The player is LB Clay Matthews at No. 77.

I bet they give some love to the defense. Maybe Clay Mathews?

It will most likely be Clay Matthews. Hopefully I am wrong and he will be higher, but I think it is very likely that this will be Clay.

The Packers have quite a list of players that could make the top 100 when they are healthy the problem is they aren’t. Aaron and Clay will drop but probably not this far Cobb will drop of the list, but this might be Sitton or Shields.

I’m not taking any stock in this list. Jordy at 83? Matt Forte at 91? charles clay above jason witton? Come on.

Witten. Cobb was hurt and like Nelson, it took a year for people to take notice, which is why Shields will not be on this list. Witten 80-71 Clay 40-31 Rodgers 20-11.

    Sitton*

Looks like I was right. It was Clay.

Sam Shields will not be on this list. Sorry to those that believe that. I just hope he doesn’t turn out to be a Burnett size blunder. You can’t throw this kind of money at a roller coaster kind of player.

I would like to know how the people who created this list did at fantasy football.

HERE is the frightening stat of the day!! Only Pit, SF, STL pay their INSIDE linebackers more. AJ Hawk is ranked 12th and Brad Jones 17th for salary for 2014. Collectively they take up 9 Million in salary. HOW is this good money management. CUT THEM BOTH and kick this defence into a hybrid 4-3 or play nickel.. Leave Mathews, Neal Perry with a front four of Peppers, Daniels, Raji and Jones.
