News now! Rodgers to Cobb play brings back memories

140812-news-now-tc-300GREEN BAY–It was a play reminiscent of the most famous play of the 2013 season. Aaron Rodgers’ long pass in Tuesday’s practice fell softly into Randall Cobb’s hands just a few strides from the end zone, just as it had at Soldier Field on the final day of last season.

Then, it was a play that decided the NFC North title. On Tuesday, it was a play — he made a shorter touchdown catch in Monday’s practice — that ended what had been a somewhat quiet camp for Cobb. He’s back, baby.

Cobb’s pass-catching mate, Jordy Nelson, was also back at practice on Tuesday, after missing Monday’s work due to a tender hamstring. Defensive tackle Josh Boyd (rib) also returned to practice on Tuesday.

High energy was, again, the theme of the day. The Packers remained spirited, and Cobb and Eddie Lacy spent a “TV time out” dancing to the music.

Packers.com will provide a “News now!” report from Coach Mike McCarthy’s post-practice press conference.
