GREEN BAY–Mike McCarthy is stressing the division aspect of Sunday’s game in Minnesota, and the need to handle success.
“The importance of winning your fourth division game is high. Statistics will tell you that. We’re developing a style of play. We know how to win games. We need to go to Minnesota and win the football game. These division games are always the hardest of the year,” McCarthy said on Wednesday.
Green Bay beat the Vikings 42-10 on Oct. 2. Since then, the Packers have gone on to tie the Lions for the division lead heading into the final six games of the season.
“The message about handling success is something we’ve talked about since day one. Today we focused on ourselves and the Vikings and not the nice things you’re going to say about them,” McCarthy said.
Linebackers Clay Matthews (groin) and Nick Perry (shoulder) are additions to the injury report. Matthews was limited in practice and Perry did not participate.
“He doesn’t have high concern,” McCarthy said of Matthews.
