GREEN BAY — Packers linebacker Clay Matthews was limited in Thursday’s padded practice due to a groin injury, but Head Coach Mike McCarthy didn’t seem concerned about his availability for Sunday’s game in Minnesota.
“I don’t know exactly how many reps but he looked good in his work today,” McCarthy said.
The injury situation is less certain with fellow linebacker Nick Perry, who missed his second straight day of practice due to a shoulder injury. He still has a chance to play, though.
“Just getting better is what they told me,” McCarthy said. “We’ll get through tomorrow and see what he can do Saturday.”
Starting guards Josh Sitton and T.J. Lang both suited up in pads and did limited work. McCarthy said he’s not concerned about the veterans getting all their usual “team” (11-on-11) reps because they’ve been doing all the walk-through and pre-practice work with the offense.
McCarthy added that tight end Brandon Bostick (hip) is not likely to play this week.
