GREEN BAY–The Packers and Falcons were tied, 7-7, after one quarter of play at Lambeau Field on Monday night.
The Packers won the toss and elected to receive. On the second play of the game, Eddie Lacy gained 22 yards to the Packers 47-yard line. He hit the left side again for 12 on the next play.
An Aaron Rodgers pass moved the ball to the Falcons 25, first down. From there, Rodgers rolled to his right and hit Jordy Nelson over the middle for 22 yards to the Falcons 3. James Starks scored around right end, capping an easy-looking, 81-yard touchdown drive with 11:13 to play in the first quarter.
The Falcons answered with a workmanlike drive that moved 72 yards in nine plays and was capped by a 4-yard touchdown run by Steven Jackson with 7:00 to play in the first quarter. The big plays in the drive were passes of 19 and 18 yards from Matt Ryan to Julio Jones.
Rodgers kick-started the Packers’ next possession with a 30-yard completion to Andrew Quarless. Lacy pounded out a first down at the Falcons 32, and then Rodgers found Quarless for 13 and a first down at the 19. The quarter ended with the Packers on the 1.
