GREEN BAY — The Packers opened the doors to the Don Hutson Center for practice on Wednesday, and it was so cold outside — around zero or slightly below — that the temperature inside for practice was 22 degrees.
“That’s about what we’re looking for game time,” Mike McCarthy said, referring to Sunday’s forecast. “We didn’t go outside today because of the wind.”
QB Aaron Rodgers didn’t practice, and it remains a possibility he can return to the practice field on Thursday, though that is not for certain.
“I plan on Aaron playing Sunday,” McCarthy said. “He still has some things to work through. We’ll see what tomorrow brings.”
As he did earlier in the week, McCarthy expressed confidence that Rodgers would be ready to play and play well even if he gets very limited practice snaps.
“Aaron’s totally into the game plan,” McCarthy said. “He’s taking all the reps in the walk-throughs. Mentally he’s right on top of it.”
