INDIANAPOLIS–Wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham is one of the two big risk-reward players in this year’s NFL draft, the other one being quarterback Jameis Winston. Green-Beckham has been projected as high as a top-five pick, should he perform well at the scouting combine and convince teams he’s left his off-field troubles in the past.
“All the decisions I made, I wish I could take it back,” he told reporters during a media session at the combine that could only be described as an appeal for forgiveness.
At 6-6,. 225, he’s been compared to Calvin Johnson, but Green-Beckham was involved in several incidents at Missouri, including an alleged burglary. He transferred to Oklahoma but didn’t play in 2014; his talent, however, makes him a potential high pick in this year’s draft.
“I know what’s at stake. I know what kind of person I am. I feel like these mistakes have put me back. It’s tough for me to stand up and speak to you guys,” he said, nervously.
His past will no doubt unnerve teams, but he might be too much of a talent to pass up.
