GREEN BAY–Packers Head Coach Mike McCarthy has the young quarterback he’s coveted. UCLA’s Brett Hundley was selected in the fifth round with the 147th overall choice of the draft on Saturday.
The Packers moved up 19 spots in a trade with the Patriots to acquire Hundley.
Hundley, 6-3, 226, was a high-round prospect heading into last season. He’s described as a developmental prospect and has been compared to Jason Campbell.
He’s also been described as a flash prospect who shows the physical tools to be a starter, but must develop his pocket skills for that to happen.
The Packers gave their seventh-round pick, No. 247 overall, to the Patriots in the trade.
