GREEN BAY — Kansas State University has announced that its football locker room will be named after Jordy and Emily Nelson.
The Packers star wide receiver and his wife recently pledged an undisclosed amount of money toward the next phase of renovations to Bill Snyder Family Stadium on the campus of Nelson’s alma mater. Originally a walk-on as a safety at Kansas State, Nelson developed into a record-setting wide receiver and was eventually drafted by the Packers in the second round in 2008.
Nelson was born in Manhattan, Kan., where Kansas State is located, and grew up in nearby Riley, Kan., before attending school there. Growing up, his family had season tickets to Kansas State football.
