Kansas City’s offense was reduced to seven possessions of three or fewer plays through three quarters. Meanwhile, Rodgers had thrown for 259 yards and four touchdowns.
Midway through the quarter, Sam Shields intercepted an Alex Smith pass and returned it 15 yards to the Chiefs 4-yard line. One play later, Rodgers threw a touchdown pass to Randall Cobb, Cobb’s second TD grab of the night.
The Chiefs scored on a 5-yard pass from Smith to Jeremy Maclin with :56 to play in the third quarter.
