151011-q1-in-game-updates-650GREEN BAY — The Packers struck early and late to take a 14-0 lead into the second quarter of Sunday’s game at Lambeau Field.

The Rams won the coin toss and elected to receive. The Packers defense quickly forced a three-and-out and, following the punt, the Packers had the ball at their 44-yard line.

On third down, Aaron Rodgers scrambled for 18 yards and a first down at the Rams 35. On third-and-6, Rodgers found Ty Montgomery wide open over the middle for a 31-yard touchdown with 12:09 to play in the first quarter.

Two pass completions put the Rams across midfield, and from the Packers 45 Todd Gurley broke loose for the first time and gained 11 yards, but a Clay Matthews/Nick Perry sack of Nick Foles left the Rams facing a third-and-16. An incomplete pass left the Rams to punt.

Rodgers was intercepted by James Laurinaitis off a tipped ball, and the Rams were in business at the Rams 43-yard line. It was the first time Rodgers had been intercepted at Lambeau Field in 1,043 days. On third d0wn, however, a fierce pass rush forced Foles to throw an interception to Micah Hyde.

The Packers faced a fourth-and-1 and went for it. Eddie Lacy was stopped shy of the first down and the Rams took over at their 41 with 1:36 to play in the first quarter, but just three plays later, Quinten Rollins intercepted a Foles pass and eased into the end zone from 45 yards away. Foles, again, was under an intense pass rush.
