Hargrove playing waiting game

Packers DE Anthony Hargrove said he doesn’t know anything more about the media reports that the league is possibly negotiating a reduction of the suspensions handed down in the Saints bounty scandal. Hargrove, a member of the Saints’ Super Bowl championship team three years ago, was suspended for the first eight games of 2012.

Hargrove said he got an email from his agent around 1 a.m. informing him of the media reports, but that’s all he’s heard. Everything else remains unknown.

“Like it’s been this entire time. I’m still waiting, like everybody else is,” Hargrove told reporters on Monday afternoon. “I would love to be here Game 1, but right now I don’t know what’s going to happen. I’m planning on being back in November.”

Hargrove’s suspension upheld

Posted by Mike Spofford on July 3, 2012 – 3:08 pm

Packers defensive lineman Anthony Hargrove’s eight-game suspension for his role in the New Orleans Saints bounty program has been upheld by Commissioner Roger Goodell.

Hargrove, signed by the Packers on March 30, is suspended without pay for the first eight games of the 2012 season.

Goodell kept all bounty-related player suspensions in place, leaving Saints LB Jonathan Vilma suspended for the full season. Saints DE Will Smith remains suspended for four games, while LB Scott Fujita, now with the Browns, is suspended for three games.
