Packers playoff captains take annual photo
Posted by on January 18, 2015 – 8:05 amThe Packers’ playoff captains, elected by members of the team, are QB Aaron Rodgers and WR Jordy Nelson on offense, LB Julius Peppers and S Morgan Burnett on defense, and WR Randall Cobb and DB Jarrett Bush on special teams. The team voted on the playoff captains prior to Week 16’s game in Tampa. Normally, the Packers elect three captains each week and then elect six playoff captains once the postseason begins. The change was designed to send a message of focus and urgency following the tough loss in Buffalo.

Packers elect six playoff captains
Posted by on January 1, 2014 – 4:50 pmThe Packers have voted for and selected their captains for the 2013 postseason.
Unlike some teams, Green Bay doesn’t have season-long captains but chooses captains during the regular season on a weekly basis to go out for the coin toss. For the postseason, these six players will serve as captains and wear a “C” patch on their jerseys for as long as the Packers season continues.
They are QB Aaron Rodgers and WR Jordy Nelson on offense, LB A.J. Hawk and S Morgan Burnett on defense, and K Mason Crosby and CB Jarrett Bush on special teams.
This is the first time for Nelson and Burnett to be chosen as playoff captains. Rodgers leads the way with five selections now, followed by Bush with four, and Hawk and Crosby with three apiece.
Nelson has set career highs this season in both receptions (85) and receiving yards (1,314). Hawk led the team in tackles with 153, the seventh time in eight seasons he has either finished first or second on the team in that category. Hawk also posted a career-high five sacks.
Burnett finished second on the team with 104 tackles despite missing the first three games due to injury. Bush had seven tackles and one forced fumble on the coverage units, while Crosby posted the highest field-goal percentage of his seven-year career at 89.1 percent, making 33 of 37 field goals.
