Run defense taking shape

Considering the injury situation and the number of new players the defensive coaching staff was getting acclimated to the defense, the Packers’ effort in slowing down the Jets’ running game last Sunday was remarkable. RBs LaDainian Tomlinson and Shonn Greene combined for just 76 yards on 22 carries, their lowest combined output of the season.

For a more in-depth look at how the run defense is coming around and starting to look a little more like last year, when the Packers led the league, check out today’s feature story.

Another note: One roster move today … the Packers released DE Michael Montgomery. No corresponding addition to the roster was made, so there’s one open spot.
