Coach McCarthy said on Monday the team is as healthy as it’s been, and he expects nearly everyone to practice on Wednesday.
LB Frank Zombo, who has been out with a knee injury, is scheduled to go through testing on Tuesday and has a chance to return to practice this week.
The team will practice with the doors open in the Hutson Center this week to get the temperature down, and they will also work outside during the team periods on Thursday. The players were off Sunday, came in on Monday for weightlifting and meetings, and they’re off again Tuesday, though many will come in on their own. McCarthy said after the last four weeks, and the short week prior to the Atlanta game, he felt it was important to give the players three days off from the practice field. The first practice of the week will be Wednesday, as it normally is.
He also spoke at different times about LB A.J. Hawk’s play, the emergence of CB Tramon Williams, and the decision to use NT B.J. Raji as a fullback at the goal line on offense.
