Friday’s coverage

The Packers’ ability to pick up the Steelers’ blitzes in last year’s game, after a rough start, was the main reason QB Aaron Rodgers threw for 383 yards and the offense put up 36 points. Blitz pick-up will be a major emphasis once again in the Super Bowl, so that’s the subject of today’s feature story.

Also, LB Frank Zombo returned to practice on Friday after missing the past six games. He felt no pain in his injured knee and is confident he’ll be able to play in the Super Bowl. So is LB Erik Walden, who missed Friday’s practice with an ankle injury and could return to the practice field next Wednesday in Dallas. For more on that, as well as Coach McCarthy’s first Super Bowl memory, check out today’s notebook.
