Are players the Packers like falling?

From Vic’s ongoing live chat:

this draft is going fast?

Yes, it is. You know what that means? A lot of targeting.

Too high for Pouncey. Big reach. You don’t pick guards this high unless they’re John Hannah.

That’s fine if they don’t use the shotgun. Did you see Florida’s games last year? The kid couldn’t have snapped a ball into a swimming pool.

My guess is that Ted Thompson is liking what he’s seeing. My guess is he’s targeted a guy and he’s watching that guy fall toward him.

Pouncey is another example of targeting. Wanna know why Thompson can do what he does? Because so many teams don’t do what he does. They allow top players to fall to teams that employ Thompson’s philosophy.

OK, let’s look at the D-linemen on the board: Bowers, Jordan, Heyward, Clayborn, Reed, Wilkerson, Taylor, Liuget, Austin and Paea. Those are all good players. This I know for sure: A good player will be available when the Packers pick.

Yes, the Packers are going to get a plum pick. We’re going to run into teams soon that will want to trade back.
