The first four picks of the second round have been all CBs and QBs.
New England took CB Ras-I Dowling from Virginia to open the second round, and Buffalo followed with CB Aaron Williams of Texas, whom many analysts had rated higher.
Then Cincinnati grabbed QB Andy Dalton from TCU, the QB who beat Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl. With five QBs off the board — four were taken in the first round on Thursday night — San Francisco traded up to get Denver’s spot at No. 36 and take QB Colin Kaepernick of Nevada.
That’s five QBs in the first 36 picks.
