Now it’s a run on pass-rushers
Posted by on April 29, 2011 – 5:49 pmAfter the four CBs and QBs, suddenly three of the next four picks have been pass-rushers.
Pitt’s Jabaal Sheard goes to Cleveland, UCLA’s Akeem Ayers (a player linked by many analysts to the Packers with the 32nd pick last night) goes to Tennessee, and North Carolina’s Bruce Carter goes to Dallas.
Pass-rushers like Clemson’s Da’quan Bowers and Arizona’s Brooks Reed are still out there. Interestingly, an interior lineman for Clemson, Jarvis Jenkins, just went ahead of Bowers. That speaks volumes about how big a concern Bowers’ knee is. He was thought at one point as the possible top pick in the draft, then top 10 or so. Now more than 40 picks have gone and Bowers is still out there.
Now Reed just went at No. 42 to Houston. That’s four pass-rushers in the last six picks (37-42).
