Packers draft Appalachian State LB D.J. Smith in sixth round
Posted by on April 30, 2011 – 3:19 pmWith the second of their three sixth-round picks, at No. 186 overall, the Packers have drafted outside linebacker D.J. Smith from Appalachian State.
A four-year starter, Smith piled up more than 500 tackles in his career. He posted seven sacks over his final three seasons.
A multiple All-America honoree in the Football Championship Subdivision (formerly I-AA), Smith finished his career with 525 tackles, the most of any active player in FBS or FCS in 2010.
