With the first of their two seventh-round picks, the Packers have drafted North Carolina tight end Ryan Taylor.

Taylor (6-3, 254) set a school record for most receptions in a season by a tight end with 36 in 2010. He had 330 yards and two TDs.

He was a special teams captain for the Tar Heels for two seasons, in 2008 and 2010.  He missed the entire 2009 season and took a medical redshirt due to a knee injury.

Taylor played some linebacker early in his college career due to injuries on his team, and he played both ways in a game in 2008. He was a full-time offensive player at TE last season.
