My hope is that Monday’s ruling by the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals that extended the stay of Judge Susan Nelson’s preliminary injunction will trigger serious negotiations between the players and the owners on a new collective bargaining agreement. Within the Eighth Circuit Court’s 14-page reply is rather strong language that would suggest Judge Nelson might have overstepped her bounds. That statement would suggest the Eighth Circuit is going to favor a continuation of the lockout in a final ruling, and my hope is that will motivate the players to seek an agreement. I want them back. I want mini-camp and OTAs and the whole bit. Am I being reasonable?
