The NFL and NFLPA issued the following joint statement on Friday, following the Eighth Circuit Court’s ruling that supports the current lockout.
“While we respect the court’s decision, today’s ruling does not change our mutual recognition that this matter must be resolved through negotiation. We are committed to our current discussions and reaching a fair agreement that will benefit all parties for years to come, and allow for a full 2011 season.”
The joint statement would indicate that both sides have committed themselves to settling their dispute through negotiation, not litigation. The statement will also be seen as an indication that the two sides have made progress toward an agreement.
