Head Coach Mike McCarthy and defensive lineman Ryan Pickett both spoke to reporters on Friday about the news regarding Johnny Jolly’s prison sentence. Here’s what they had to say.
McCarthy: “Your thoughts and prayers are with Johnny as he moves forward with this challenge. Johnny was a very good teammate here, and he’s still looked at as a teammate through a lot of guys in the locker room. He has a challenge ahead of him, and we all wish him the best.”
Pickett: “I feel hurt for him. Johnny’s a great guy. He’s struggled with some issues and had problems, but everybody on this team knows his heart and what kind of player he was, what kind of teammate he was. Your heart goes out for him, for him and his family.
“We saw him in Dallas (during Super Bowl week). We saw him out and spoke to him. He was hurting. He was devastated. The guy loves the game of football. He loves the Packers.
“You’re pulling for him. You want him to have another chance. You know the guy, and he’s not a bad person, he’s just got a bad problem.”
