Offensive tackles disappearing
Posted by on April 27, 2012 – 6:49 pmBeginning with Cal’s Mitchell Schwartz at 37, four of the last six picks now have been offensive tackles. Midwestern State’s Amini Silatolu, Georgia’s Cordy Glenn and Stanford’s Jonathan Martin have been the last three picks in succession (40 through 42).
This draft was said to be thin at offensive tackle, so you wonder how many more have grades high enough to be drafted tonight. The Packers certainly could use a tackle with the release of Chad Clifton this week, but the Packers are 16 picks away and that’s a ways to trade up.
Update: With the Chiefs taken Illinois’ Jeff Allen at 44, that makes five of the last eight picks at offensive tackle.
