The NFL has released its statistical analysis of the opening weekend rosters of all NFL teams, and the Packers come in as the sixth-youngest team at an average age of 25.70.
A few years back, the Packers were the youngest team in the league three years running, but they have remained among the youngest quarter of teams (8 of 32) throughout Head Coach Mike McCarthy’s tenure.
The only teams with an average age younger than the Packers are St. Louis (25.30), Cleveland (25.55), Philadelphia (25.51), Miami (25.57) and New England (25.68). The league average is 26.22.
Among others in the NFC North, Detroit has the league’s oldest roster (27.42), Minnesota is just a shade older than Green Bay (25.72), and Chicago is above the league average (26.62).
