GREEN BAY–Three heated skirmishes punctuated some of the most intense half-line drills of training camp on Wednesday morning, another cool and cloudy day at Ray Nitschke Field.

Veteran guard T.J. Lang and rookie linebacker Sam Barrington began hostilities. They were followed by a bout between second-year guard Greg Van Roten and veteran linebacker Robert Francois, and the drill was capped by Jermichael Finley throwing a roundhouse right in a skirmish that was joined by a host of combatants.

The half-line running game drill has become a staple in this training camp, the theme of which would clearly seem to be: Let’s get physical.

Rookie running back Eddie Lacy did not participate in Wednesday’s practice. Wide receiver Randall Cobb was dressed out for practice but was limited in what he did. Veteran defensive lineman Mike Neal participated in practice for the first time in this training camp and spent time with the linebackers. Running back Alex Green and first-round pick Datone Jones returned to practice. will provide a full report following practice.
