Training camp look in: Harrell steps in with ones
Posted by on August 20, 2013 – 12:58 pmGREEN BAY–Graham Harrell took the bulk of the snaps with the first-team offense in Aaron Rodgers’ absence on Tuesday. Rodgers might’ve taken the day off to preserve his arm strength; Head Coach Mike McCarthy will no doubt comment during his post-practice press conference.
Harrell’s work with the first team would suggest he is the team’s No. 2 quarterback and might have an opportunity to clinch the backup job with a strong performance on Friday night against the Seattle Seahawks.
Vince Young was the next man in at quarterback during 11-on-11 drills. He was followed by B.J. Coleman, who threw the best pass of the drill when he burned the No. 1 defense with a deep ball while quarterbacking the scout-team offense.
