Packers fall farther behind in third quarter, 20-7

The Vikings converted a third-and-five with a pass completion to the Packers 39-yard line. From there, quarterback Christian Ponder found Greg Jennings over the middle for 21 yards to the Packers 18-yard line. Jennings’ catch was booed lustily by Packers fans.
Ponder’s 12-yard touchdown pass to fullback Rhett Ellison at 8:22 of the third quarter left the Vikings with a 20-7 lead and the Packers with a daunting challenge. Matt Flynn replaced Scott Tolzien at quarterback for the Packers.
Flynn immediately pitched a short completion and then running back James Starks broke loose for a 34-yard run to the Vikings 37-yard line. That’s where the drive and the excitement stalled.
The Vikings took possession of the ball at their 4-yard line and had advanced to the Packers 16-yard line when the third quarter ended.
