GREEN BAY–The Packers cut the Falcons’ lead to 21-16 through three quarters of today’s game at Lambeau Field.

Starting a drive at their 27-yard line and trailing 21-10, Matt Flynn pitched a 46-yard strike to Jordy Nelson. James Starks then gained five yards to the Atlanta 17-yard line. Flynn was sacked, however, leaving the Packers with a third-and-12. A short pass to Brandon Bostick brought Mason Crosby into the game to attempt a 33-yard field goal. Crosby converted and the Packers had cut the Falcons’ lead to eight points.

After a second consecutive three-and-out by the Packers defense, the Packers took possession of the ball at their 25-yard line with 7:26 to play in the third quarter.

Flynn was immediately sacked by a middle blitz, but Flynn followed that with a 21-yard pass to Andrew Quarless. Two plays later, Flynn hit Jarrett Boykin with a 19-yard pass to the Falcons 41-yard line.

Eddie Lacy pounded out six yards and then Lacy gained a first down with an 8-yard run that required half the Falcons defense to tackle him. Two plays later, Flynn threw to Quarless for a first down at the Falcons 12.

On third-and-four from the 7-yard line, Flynn threw incomplete. Crosby then booted a 25-yard field goal that left the Packers trailing by five points, 21-16, through three quarters.
