The news of Barclay’s injury, which likely has ended his season, shines a bright light on Derek Sherrod. He was a first-round pick in 2011 but suffered a broken leg late in his rookie season that left him in a two-year recovery mode. Now, Sherrod is back, and just in time.
How does he compare today to before his injury?
“That’s a great question. He’s definitely different. He’s definitely stronger. As far as the movement, that’s better asked of him,” McCarthy said.
Sherrod worked at left and right tackle on Wednesday and might do the same on Saturday night in Tennessee, when the Packers open the preseason against the Titans.
