News now! Training camp intensity peaks on wild Wednesday
Posted by on August 13, 2014 – 2:23 pmGREEN BAY–Packers Coach Mike McCarthy said his team needed to be physical.
“It was a practice we needed. There were some challenges that needed to be met. It was a physical practice. I think we got done what we needed to get done today,” McCarthy said following a Wednesday practice that featured the most heated skirmish of training camp.
“It’s about growing a football team. You do these drills for a reason. We’re probably not going to be able to practice like that again. Targets were laid out and walking off the field today I felt like we hit our targets,” McCarthy added.
Linebackers Coach Winston Moss and Offensive Line Coach James Campen participated vocally in the heated half-line drill.
“It was a lot of energy in a drill. There’s nothing wrong with what Winston Moss and James Campen did today,” McCarthy added.
